He is preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Boatwright and Ella Louise Kaney; brother, James "Jake" Edward Boatwright, Jr.; and aunt, Cathy Kaney.
He is survived by his uncles, Jeff (Pam) Kaney, and Dennis Kaney; cousin, Tina Johnson; and niece and nephew, Bailey and Hunter Boatwright.
