Mrs. Barbara Ann Head, age 89, beloved wife of 68 years to the late John Claude Head, entered into rest on Sunday April 12, 2026.
She is survived by her son, Timothy (Cindy) Head; step grandchildren, R. Wesley (Ashley) Brown, Kenneth Brown; great grandchildren, Madison Brown, Trista Brown, Kenli Brown, Easton Brown, Blakely Brown; and many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her son, Claude "Keith" Head; parents William R. and Louise Kelly Carver; brothers, Jack Carver, Roy Carver, Billy Carver, Dean Carver; and sisters, Nellie W. Hosea, Bonnie Purdom and Lucille Wilson.
Mrs. Head was a a devout Christian and a prayer warrior. Her and her husband Claude were the founding pastors of Highland Assembly of God in Highland, NC and actually built the church. Through the years her and Claude loved camping, church and going to gospels singing's. She especially loved to cook and enjoyed family gatherings more than anyone you could imagine. In her later years she suffered with dementia, but today, "the angels sing for the grace that her suffering is no more". She is finally whole and at home with her loving savior.
A funeral service honoring her life will be held on Thursday April 16, 2026 at 12PM in the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home with Bishop Phillip Napier officiating. The interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Bryan Bleckley, Kenneth Brown, Wesley Brown, Joe Burg, Bill Hamilton, Russ Head, Kirk Kinson, Carver Vaughn and Chris Vaughn.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hitchcock Square, Anchor Post Acute Care, Agape Hospice and Gentiva Hospice for the their kindess and care of Mrs. Head during her time of illness.
