Betty Henson Whitley

Betty Henson Whitley, 82, entered into rest on July 4, 2026.

Ms. Whitley is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Ollie Henson; and grandparents, Robert and Francis Henson, also known as “Mama and Daddy Henson”.

She is survived by her grandson, Connor Whitley; sons, Britt Whitley and Clifford Whitley (Mary); and sisters, Patricia Emrich and Jennifer Burke.

Ms. Whitley was a 15 year stage 4 Lung Cancer Survivor. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her family. Kindness, gentleness, generosity, and joy are just a few of the words that encapsulated her essence. She loved music, especially James Taylor, Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban and Michael Bublé. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going on trips to Charleston. Ms. Whitley was a talented upholsterer and loved antique furniture re-finishing. She retired from DOE as a Contract Specialist. Something that brought Ms. Whitley joy was getting chocolate Frosty’s from Wendy’s with her beloved family.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, July 10th, in the Chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home in Graniteville, SC. Interment will be held privately.
