AIKEN, SC – Brenda P. Franklin, 82, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A lifelong resident of Aiken, Brenda was the daughter of the late Homer and Jennie Perry. She graduated from Aiken High School and spent many years working at Holmes Jewelers and Floyd & Green Jewelers. In her later years, she dedicated herself to helping others as a caregiver, a role that reflected her generous spirit and compassionate heart. She was a member of St. John Methodist Church.
To know Brenda was to love her. She touched many lives with her kindness, warmth, and enthusiasm for life. A devoted mother and grandmother, she cherished her family above all else and was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature.
Brenda was especially proud of being a “fur-baby grandma,” loving her pets dearly. They loved her just as much in return, especially Mia and Ryker.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Franklin McIntosh; her grandson, Tyler Jordan McIntosh and his wife, Thantawan Claire McIntosh, whom Brenda loved like a granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister, Debbie Barber of Aiken, along with several beloved nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, W. Wayne Franklin, and sister, Sylvia Crain.
In lieu of flowers or food, memorial contributions may be made in Brenda’s name to the National Cancer Institute Gift Fund, Building 31, Room 11A-16, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20892.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her oncology and palliative care teams at Wellstar, as well as the compassionate nurses Taylor, Victoria, and Daniel, and CenterWell Home Health in Aiken for their exceptional care, kindness, and support during Brenda’s illness.
In accordance with Brenda’s wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held.
Jackson Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with these arrangements.
