Charles Edward Braxton

Mr. Charles Edward "Eddie" Braxton, age 72, beloved husband of 52 years to Wanda Rhoden Braxton, entered into rest on Friday April 10, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Summer (Shannon) Rogers, Erik (Felicia) Braxton; grandchildren, Zachary (Madi) Shealy, Braden Shealy, Hadley Braxton, Nolan Rogers, Dylan Rogers, Alisa (Eli) Buckley; great granddaughter, Mavery Shealy; and sister, Peggy Braxton Love.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman Lee and Rose Mary D. Braxton; and brothers, Norman L. Braxton, Jr. and Kenneth F. Braxton.

Eddie enjoyed every aspect of life. He loved golf, sports and drag racing. He was an avid Gamecock fan. Eddie loved to go fishing and would look forward to the annual "Southern Gentleman" fishing trip he took with his friends every year. He loved hanging out with his friends at the Midway Grill, every day. Eddie loved camping with his grand kids and teaching them how to fish, no matter how many times they tangled their lines in the trees. He always looked forward to the two week family beach trip every year. Eddie will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

A funeral service honoring his life will be held on Friday April 17, 2026 at 3pm in the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home with Dorinda Disher officiating and several special friends delivering eulogies. The interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening April 16, 2026 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Zachary Shealy, Braden Shealy, Danny Everhart, Joel Leopard, Richard Stone and Lee Gunter.

The Southern Gentlemen of Midway Grill will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
