Chester Snipes Jr.

Mr. Chester Snipes, Jr., age 90, entered into rest on Thursday, September 26, 2025.

He is survived by his three daughters, Gail (Roger) Godwin, Donna S. Gunter, and Regina Snipes; three grandchildren, Cliff McCall, April McCall and Stacey Lowe; three great-grandchildren, Lexi, Cager and Kyleigh.

Mr. Snipes was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Marie Davis Snipes; his son, Timmy Snipes; his parents, Chester and Ada Jackson Snipes; his siblings, Irvin Snipes, Alma Holsenback and Clara Jean DuBose.

Mr. Snipes was a lifelong resident of Aiken County and a devoted member and deacon of Unity Holiness Church. He retired after 40 years of employment with Graniteville Textile and worked at True Value Hardware for a couple of years.

He enjoyed gardening, raking, and fishing, and was known for his love of the Lord and his family. Mr. Snipes will be fondly remembered for his faith, kindness, and dedication to those he loved.

A funeral service honoring his life will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 2 o'clock at the Unity Holiness Church with Rev. James Sharpe officiating. The interment will follow in Holsenback Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. 

Pallbearers will be Ricky DuBose, Glenn DuBose, Nate Green, Ron Hamilton, Sammy Steele, Darrel Hall.
