Gary "Butch" Stephens

Mr. Gary Engle "Butch" Stephens, age 83, entered into rest on Wednesday September 9, 2026.

He is survived by his daughters, Carrie McGinty, Connie Sawyer; sister, Gail Campbell; brother, Johnnie (Joan) Stephens; several grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, "Pee Wee".

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louie Engle and Mildred Irene Hoover Stephens; son, Paul Anthony Stephens; brothers, Arthur Stephens, Billy Stephens; and sister, Jessie Carr.

Butch worked for Graniteville Company before his retirement. He was a general handyman. He could work on cars and run a tractor. Everyone that knew him, loved him. He will be deeply missed.

A funeral service honoring his life will be held on Thursday September 17, 2026 at 2pm in the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Taylor officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
