Mrs. Hazel Rodgers Ferguson, 82, entered into rest on Thursday December 18, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years, James D. Ferguson; parents, Austin D. and Sarah Blanche Rodgers; sisters, Barbara June Ferguson, Patricia Ann Baker; brother-in-law, Joseph Ferguson; and son-in-law, Alan Lindsey.
She is survived by her children, Leonard R. (Madina) McNeely USAF, Maj.(r), Lewis A. McNeely Sr., Tammy M. (Darren P.) Baker, Darlene (Donald) Hanby; brother-in-law, Bobby Ferguson Sr.; sister-in-law, Virginia Thompson; grandchildren, Austin, Lindsay (Mark), Jacob, Jessica (James), Richard (Celina), Caleb, Jaden (Colton), Bella, Paige; and great grandchildren, Jaycie, Ankh, Aveline, Isla, Jacob, Weston, Kallen, Aaron; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hazel worked for 3 years as a clerk typist for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and later managed Schwartz’s Family Delicatessen until her retirement. She was a world traveler and boasted having been on 29 cruises. She never met a stranger and loved to talk to everyone about her children and grandchildren. A devoted Christian, she took great pride in her faith and love for God. More than anything else she loved her family, and her cats. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
A Funeral Service, celebrating her life will be held at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday December 27, 2025 at 11 A.M. The burial will follow immediately at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on the evening of Friday December 26, 2025 from 6 to 8 P.M.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
