Henry Alva Woodward Jr.

Mr. Henry Alva Woodward, Jr., born January 30, 1937, passed away peacefully on August 18th at Trinity on Laurens in Aiken, SC.

Mr. Woodward was born in Aiken, SC to the late Henry Alva Woodward Sr. and Marion Moyer Woodward. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Overstreet Woodward; second wife, Judith Guyton; and his son, Michael Glenn Woodward.

Mr. Woodward leaves behind a sister, Margie Frey (Jim); step-son, Allen Baxley (Kim); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly.

Mr. Woodward was known as “Alva” or “Pud.” He enjoyed Bow hunting and spending time outdoors looking for arrowheads. He retired from USCA as a groundman. He loved to attend church and was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta.

A memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the Chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home in Graniteville, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will follow the memorial service at Sunset Memorial Garden in Graniteville, SC.
