John "Buddy" Wise

John K. "Buddy" Wise, age 94, loving husband of 62 years to the late Joenette Hadden Wise and son of the late John T. Wise and the late Mabel Barker Wise, entered into rest on Saturday, February 28, 2026. He is survived by daughters, Carol (Timothy) Taylor and Connie (the late Mark) Nixon, both of Aiken, S.C., seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews.

He was born in Graniteville, S.C., and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Graniteville Company with 47 years of service. A life-long member of Graniteville First Baptist Church, he served for many years as Church Treasurer.

In his final wishes, he stated “I want my Family to always remember how much I loved them.”

A funeral service will be held at the Graniteville First Baptist Church in Graniteville, S.C. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Patrick J. Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the historic Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Cameron Nixon, Lucky Joy, Ric Castles, Martin Wingard, Larry Harris, and Nick O'Berry.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Forest View Manor Assisted Living, The Place at Shadow Oaks and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care.
