Larry Ray Mathis

Mr. Larry Ray Mathis, 78, entered into rest on October 8, 2026.

Mr. Mathis was born to the late Monroe and Lillian Mathis in Langley, SC. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, traveling, and listening to music. Whether casting a line, exploring the mountains, or enjoying his favorite songs, he found happiness in life’s simple pleasures.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mathis is preceded in death by his siblings, James Mathis, Frank Mathis, William Mathis, Shirley Floyd, Janice Barton and Dorothy Turner. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Helen Mathis; son, Sheldon Ryan Davis; daughter, Kimberly Michelle Davis (Timothy “Reid” Davis); brother, Thomas Earl Mathis; sister, Betty Plunkett; and grandchildren, Kalebh Daniel Simmons, Seth Xavier Simmons, Braylan Matthew Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Napier officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
