Lucille Berry

Lettie “Lucille” Jones Berry, age 99, wife of the late LeRoy Berry passed away on Monday October 5, 2026. She was the daughter of the late William “Bill” Jessie Jones and the late Lettie Mae Wise Jones.

From the age of three years old, after the death of her mother, Lucille was adopted by her sister, the late Lillian Jones Collins, and her husband, the late Reverend Peniel Collins.

Lucille was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a devoted Christian and a member of St. John Methodist Church in Graniteville, South Carolina. Until her health became a problem, she was almost always in church and walked faithfully in her faith. She loved people.

Lucille worked for many years in the Spinning Room at Graniteville Company and later at Kmart in Aiken, where she retired due to health reasons.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Wilbur Leroy Jones and William “Bill” Jones; and sisters, Lillian Jones Collins, Helen Jones Hood, Ethel Mae Jones Pardue, Mary Alice Jones Holsbonback, Nieces (adopted sisters) Elizabeth “Betty” Collins Weeks and Thelma “Joyce” Collins Duncan Napier.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Johnson (Danny); grandson, Jason Morgan (Ashley); great-grandson, Aiden Morgan; several nieces and nephews; as well as some very faithful friends.

All service for Mrs. Berry will be private.
