Luther "Chuck" Renew

Luther "Chuck" Renew, age 84, beloved wife of 20 years to Mrs. Ellen Cushman Renew, entered into rest on Saturday April 18, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Vincent (Helen) Renew, Myron Renew, Sharilyn (Kenneth Hutto); grandchildren, Morgan Renew, Austin Renew, Bryant Renew, Gavelin Renew, Tyler Hutto, Chris Byars, Paige Ricard; four great grandchildren; sister, Jewel Napier, Yvonne (David) Winter; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, Mrs. Carolyn Renew; parents, Luther George and Gladys Key Renew; brother, Milton Renew; and sisters, Peggy Thompson and Barbara Thompson.

Mr. Renew worked for 38 years at Owens Corning Fiberglas as a Refrigerator Mechanic and retired as a Planner. He loved to play golf and enjoyed fishing. Mr. Renew was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School on Sunday's and on Tuesdays for those unable to attend the regular class. He also taught a Bible Study each week. Mr. Renew proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

A funeral service honoring his life will be held on Thursday April 23, 2026, at 2pm in the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Doss officiating. The interment will follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening April 22, 2026, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Hutto, Tyler Hutto, Vincent Renew, Gavelin Renew, John Morelli and Gerry Kelley.

Honorary Pallbearers are Charlie Bouge, Robert Vaughn and Chris Byars. 

Jackson Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with these arrangements.
