Mary Katherine “Kathy” Friday, age 70, adoring wife to Grady L. “Buddy” Friday Jr. for over 50 years, and loving mother to Jenny (Kevin) Floth, Lee (Cynthia) Friday, and Josh (Brooke) Friday, left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 29, 2025. In addition to being a loving mother, she was also a loving grandmother to Kayla (Shannon) Lemora, Carrie Floth, Lauren Friday (Corbin Shealy), Landen Friday, Leeland Friday, Logan Friday, and Layton Friday, and a loving great-grandmother to Southern Lemora and Stryker Lemora. Before her health began to decline, she never missed an event that her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren participated in. She loved her family and loved being surrounded by them.
Mrs. Friday is preceded in death by her father, Joseph E. Lott, mother, Mary Bertha Chapman, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Myrtle Friday, brothers, Dave Lott and Tony Lott, sisters, JoAnn Glisson, Connie Yohe, and June Beard, her nephew James Beard, and her very special sister-in-law, Cynthia Holley.
In addition, Mrs. Friday is survived by her stepfather Tommy (Amanda) Chapman, sisters Brenda (Richard) Solomon and Nelda Deas, brother-in-law David Holley, and an abundance of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Mrs. Friday was a church secretary at Graniteville First Baptist Church, where she retired. She enjoyed camping at both the lake and the beach with her family, as well as her “girls' trip” with her friends. Mrs. Friday never met a stranger, loving everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends, but we take comfort in knowing that she is healed and whole again in heaven with her Lord and Savior.
The family will receive friends at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Kathy Friday will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Breezy Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Napier and Rev. Steve Hendricks officiating. The interment will follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandson, Leeland Friday, and her nephews, Steve Glisson, Matt Holley, Keith Doolittle, Howie Deas, and Joey Beard. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Landen Friday, Logan Friday, Layton Friday, and Stryker Lemora.
