Monica Marie Pearson

Monica Marie (Geoghan) Pearson, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 24, 2026. She was born on September 2, 1953, in Racine, Wisconsin, to the late Donald Geoghan and Emma (Thomas) Geoghan. Monica married the love of her life, Donald George Pearson, on May 29, 1970. Together they shared 56 years of marriage filled with love, faith, and family that will continue for generations.

Monica is survived by her loving husband, Donald George Pearson; her sons, George (Michelle) Pearson Jr. and Joseph (Jennifer) Pearson; and her daughters, Teresa (Cody) Henderson and Anna (Chris) Miller. She was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and the loving great-grandmother of 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Teresa (Gilberto) Saucedo, Mary (John) Nielson, Kathleen Garcia and Rose (Andreas) Keibl; and her brothers, Steve (Cheryl) Geoghan and Joseph (Kathy) Geoghan. In addition, she leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews and dear friends whom she loved like family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Donnie Geoghan and Mike Geoghan; and her sisters, Emma (Tom) Holbus and Bridgett Geoghan.

More than anything else, Monica loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who deeply cared for those around her. With a generous and humble heart, she always put others before herself. She loved people, made friends wherever she went and had a special way of making others feel loved and cared for. She found joy in spending time outdoors, especially camping and fishing, and she was blessed with a remarkable green thumb. Monica also enjoyed painting, baking, crafting, and creating with her hands. She was well known for her homemade bread, cookies, and cakes, and she delighted in sharing what she made with others, whether it was baked goods, handmade cards, crafts, or one of her beloved gnomes.

Monica courageously battled ovarian cancer for three years and fought with determination until the very end. Throughout her journey, she drew strength and encouragement from her loving family, cherished friends, fellow cancer survivors, and the many dedicated medical professionals who cared for her. She faced each challenge with faith, grace, and determination. An exceptional fighter, Monica used her experience to minister to and encourage others who were facing their own struggles, offering hope, compassion, and support. She will be deeply missed by her husband, her family, her many friends, and all who were blessed to know and love her. Her love, her faith, and the countless memories she created will live on in the hearts of her family forever.

Visitation will be held at Christian Heritage Church, 285 Ascauga Lake Rd, Graniteville, SC 29829 on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Christian Heritage Church with a graveside service immediately following at Graniteville Cemetery.
