Robert Francis "Frankie" Merkle

Mr. Robert Francis "Frankie" Merkle, age 49, entered into rest on Friday March 6, 2026 surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Williamson; father, John Robert Merkle (Melanie Stephens); siblings, Joseph "Joey" Patsourakos (Tina), Jennifer Merkle Freeman, Stacey Stead, Amanda Merkle Boatwright (Brad), Michael Williamson (Kimberly Lowe), Russell "Rusty" Williamson (Kimberly); and Emily; sons, Robert "Robbie" Yonce, Gabryel Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Merkle was a career police officer and firefighter last serving at St. Matthews Police and Fire in St. Matthews, SC (Calhoun County). He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

A funeral service honoring his life will be held on Friday March 13, 2026 at 5PM in the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating. The interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
