Rolando Rivera

Rolando "Big Daddy" Rivera, age 61 was welcomed home by Jesus and his adopted parents, JB and Joyce Redd on Saturday May 2, 2026.

He is survived by his bride of nearly 35 years, Miss Rose Rivera; his pride and joy, his daughters, Kasandra (Dustin) Trott, Danielle (Ryan) Cassaro; son, John Smith; brothers, Rudy (Beverly) Rivera, Raymond (Betty) Molina, Tomas Molina, Junior (Ann) Rivera, Ramiro (Dawn) Rivera, Reyes Martinez, Raul Rivera, Lorenzo Rivera; sister Juanita Corinodo; adopted sister, Brenda (Michael) Ward; grandbabies, Kurstin, Kaden, Riley, Corrie, Kylie, Elias, Ellis; his "other girls", Sadie and GiGi, which are his dogs; numerous nieces and nephews; and his favorite niece, Kristi Jean Firn.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Reynoldo and Guadalupe Rivera; and brother, Reuben Rivera.

Mr. Rivera was retired from the United States Marine Corps as a Master Sargent and was last employed by BAE Systems with his "Weld Avengers". He was a faithful member of Vaucluse First Baptist Church.

Besides his love for his girls, Roland was a devoted man of God and always hoped people would see Jesus in him. He loved to talk and sing (although he was tone deaf) about Jesus. He also cared deeply for his FBCV family. Roland loved his grand babies and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

A funeral service honoring his life will be held on Saturday May 9, 2026 at 1PM at Vaucluse First Baptist Church with Pastor Sean Fulton officiating. The interment will follow at Vaucluse Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, May 8, 2026 from 6-8PM at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Laurel Garvers, Robert "Trey" Sievers, Elisha Israel, Alexander Archibald, Carlton Wren, Daniel Miller, Ben Caldwell, Logan Sullivan, Jimmie Berry.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Lonnie Zimmerman, John Reynolds, Stanley Redd, Andy Redd and Richard Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vaucluse First Baptist Church: 2 Church Street. Aiken, SC 29801.
