WALLACE-Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, Mr. Sam Wallace, Jr. of Aiken, S. C., loving husband for 29 years to Nancy S. Wallace and son of the late Sam Wallace, Sr. and the late Inez French Wallace. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Wendy Clamp of Columbia, S.C.; Jennifer (Joshua) Enlow of Graniteville, S. C.; a son, Bart (Chere’) Wallace of North Augusta, S. C.; grandchildren, Blake Clamp, Kelsey Clamp and Grace Wallace; a sister, Susan (Gary) Anderson of Aiken, S.C. and a sister-in-law, Mary Wallace of Blackville, S.C. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rickey Wallace. Sam was born on December 8, 1941 in Fairfield, Alabama. His family moved to Williston, S. C. in 1951, where he was raised. He later moved to Aiken, S.C., where he spent the last 31 years. Sam worked at the Savannah River Site for 38 years as a Health Protection Supervisor. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time at Myrtle Beach. He was happiest when all of his children were around him. He served 20 years in the S. C. Air National Guard at McEntire, ANGB, Eastover, S. C. as a Senior Master Sargeant. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where he served 15 years as Treasurer. A celebration of his life service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Graniteville, S.C. on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Douglas Puckett officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, S. C. The pallbearers will be Richard Penix, Jack McElwee, Ken Hofstetter, Joe Sylvia, David Mitchell, Ron Johnson and Carl Jacobs. The family will receive friends at Napier Funeral Home, Friday evning, June 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials, in Sam’s honor, may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 276, Graniteville, S. C. 29829. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main Street, Graniteville, S. C. is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
