Wade S. Baggott, Jr.

Mr. Wade S. Baggott, Jr., age 84, beloved husband of 63 years to Mrs. Deborah B. Baggott, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 9, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Wade S. "Skip" (Penny) Baggott, III, Joseph V. "Van" (Melissa) Baggott, Debra (Steve) Beard; grandchildren, Brooke (Nathan) Storey, Samantha (Cody) Billiter, Blake Baggott, Trevor (Kayla) Muse, Brandon (Peggy) Baggott, Breanna (Wyatt) Morris, Anthony (Samantha) Baggott, Tripp Baggott; nine great grandchildren; and sister, Joy Silas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wade S., Sr. and Mildred R. Baggott; son, Carl Anthony Baggott; and granddaughter, Bethany Faith Baggott.

Mr. Baggott worked for the Graniteville Company in his early career. He then worked for Augusta News Print but he also worked for himself hanging wallpaper, even after he retired. Wade loved to sing. His singing in public began with the Bicentennial Choir and blossomed from there. He ministered in area nursing homes, memory care facilities and some churches. He even entertained at the Graniteville Leisure Years Club. He taught Sunday School for many years and even served as a Sunday School Superintendent. He also loved to play golf. He was an avid golfer and even played the Augusta National several times with his family. He enjoyed riding his bike. He would ride 12 miles a day. Mr. Baggott proudly served in the South Carolina Army National Guard. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service honoring his life, legacy and military service will be held on Friday December 12, 2025 at 11AM at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery with Pastor Stephen Phillips, Pastor Jonathan Randall and Pastor Scott Hunter officiating.

Pallbearers will be: Cody Billiter, Trevor Muse, Blake Baggott, Brandon Baggott, Anthony Baggott, Tripp Baggott, Wyatt Morris and Nathan Storey.

Jackson Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with these arrangements.
