Mr. William L. Harris, age 94, beloved husband of 55 years to the late Zora Kneece Harris, entered into rest peacefully at his daughters home on Saturday December 20, 2025.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie Harris (Keith) Polk, Sherry L. Harris; grandchildren, Joshua S. (Lindsay) Colvin, Jennifer Polk (Tyler) Clem; great grandchildren, Charlotte, Palmer and Roman; brother, Robert Harris; sister, Delores Newsome; sisters in law, Glenda K. Napier, Shirley Harris; brother in law, Floyd Harris; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife he is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie L. and Ruby Harris; and brother, James Harris; sisters in law, Mary Harris, Evelyn Harris; and brothers in law, Sammie Napier and Aubrey Adams.
Mr. Harris worked for 40 plus years with the Graniteville Company in Maintenance. He proudly served our country in the United States Army, earning several commendations for his service including; The Purple Heart, The Bronze Star, The Korean Service Metal, The United States Service Metal and the Combat Infantryman Badge. William enjoyed working in his yard and building furniture. He loved his family dearly. He and his wife Zora were dedicated members of the University Parkway Church of God in Aiken. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
A funeral service honoring his life will be held on Friday December 26, 2025 at 2PM in the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Vaucluse Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Aiken Regional Medical Centers for their care of Mr. Harris. They would also like to thank Trinity Hospice for their care and compassion. A special thanks to cousins who brought food and to all those who called, texted and prayed for the Harris family during this difficult journey.
